Hazao Miyazaki, 2008 DCP | Japan | ages 5+ $7 adv. - $9 door Katharina Otto-Bernstein Screening Room, Lenfest Center for the Arts This year’s “Year of Water” series of family films begins with Ponyo (2008), directed by the legendary Studio Ghibli animator Hayao Miyazaki. Inspired by the Hans Christian Anderson story The Little Mermaid, Miyazaki’s film tells the story of a young goldfish princess and the balance between the earth and the sea. We will be presenting this film in its English dub, featuring voice acting by Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, and Tina Fey.
